Release Low Back Tension

Does your low back get tight after you've been sitting for a while? Do your hamstrings get tight after a run? The crossed-leg forward fold stretches out your hamstrings, low back and hips. It's one of my favorites when I get off my bike.

How To:

  • Stand tall on one foot, most of your weight will stay on this leg, your stretching leg, for the remainder of the stretch.

  • Cross your other leg over the front of your stretching leg.

  • Hinge at the hips to bend forward and stretch your back leg.

  • Increase your stretch by reaching your hands to the instep of your stretching leg.

  • Hold for 30 seconds and then switch sides.
